Recipe For Our Immune-Boosting Tonic

Make this tonic during cold and flu season to stay hydrated and healthy! What each ingredient offers:

✨Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and its effectiveness can be boosted by adding some black pepper (if you don't mind a little heat!)

✨Ginger is known to fight nausea and to help settle the stomach but it also is fantastic for its support of the immune system

✨Lemon is an excellent source of Vitamin C and fiber so it can help your immune and digestive systems

✨Raw honey is a natural cough suppressant and is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory

✨Apple cider vinegar is wonderful for digestive health and blood sugar regulation

✨Water is essential for hydration, a huge part of staying healthy!

Make this powerful tonic at home and enjoy it hot or cold! Having it warmed up is recommended if you are fighting any nasal congestion as the steam can help loosen things up.

Peel & chop about 1/3 lb fresh turmeric root & 1/3 lb fresh ginger root. Place them in a pot with 2 quarts of water and 1.5 teaspoons ground turmeric. Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat and cover the pot. Let the pot sit, ideally, in the fridge overnight. The next day, strain out the turmeric and ginger and add the juice of one lemon, 3/4 cup apple cider vinegar and 2/3 cup honey (you can use less if you want it less sweet). You may need to warm the tonic up a bit to dissolve the honey. Pour into jars and keep in the fridge.
